Paramedics Practitioner

Paramedic Practitioners are registered professionals who have undertaken additional training, giving them the knowledge and competencies needed to work in the GP surgery.

A Paramedic can see patients with undiagnosed conditions, decide on the treatment required, including referring patients to hospital (for specialist assessment) and ordering investigations. Paramedics will also carry out home visits.

Some of the Paramedics have completed study at masters level in order to be able to prescribe medications and may also be referred to as Advanced Clinical Practitioners.
